Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Country Range Group, we recognise that sustainability is no longer an option—it’s a responsibility.

A Shared Responsibility for a Sustainable Future

As a key player in the wholesale foodservice industry, we understand the significant role we play to promote ethical and sustainable practices across our industry and shaping a more sustainable future. Consumer expectations, government regulations, and technological advancements are all driving the need for more environmentally responsible business practices.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact, supporting our members in their sustainability efforts, and fostering a greener supply chain. Our journey is rooted in a shared vision: to operate in a way that is both commercially successful and socially responsible.

Partnering with ClimatePartner

To strengthen our sustainability efforts, we have partnered with ClimatePartner, a globally recognized leader in climate action solutions. ClimatePartner collaborates with over 6,000 businesses worldwide, helping them measure, reduce, and offset their carbon emissions.

Through this partnership, we are taking significant steps to:
Accurately measure our members’ carbon footprints. Identify and implement meaningful carbon reduction initiatives. Explore sustainable business practices tailored to the foodservice sector. Transparently communicate our sustainability progress through the ClimatePartner certification.

The impressive track record of ClimatePartner in supporting companies like Aldi, Nestlé, and LEON gives us confidence that they are the right partner to help guide both our Group and our members toward a more sustainable future.

Our Sustainability Journey and Commitment to Our Members

CRG’s sustainability journey began with an in-depth assessment of our operational carbon footprint. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic, we established 2019 as our baseline year to understand emissions before the global disruption. Since then, our members have taken significant steps to reduce environmental impact.

With support from ClimatePartner, we are continuously refining our strategies, setting ambitious goals, and working toward a more sustainable future.

2024: Our First Group Sustainability Report

Transparency and accountability are at the core of our sustainability commitments. In 2024, we will publish our first Group-wide Sustainability Report, highlighting our progress, challenges, and next steps. This report will provide valuable insights into our carbon reduction efforts, success stories from our members, and a roadmap for continued improvement. We are proud of the strides we’ve made, but we know this is just the beginning. As a collective, we will continue to work towards reducing emissions, fostering responsible sourcing, and creating a more sustainable future for the foodservice industry.
