CRG’s February Business Development Day Returns to Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa

On the 8th and 9th of February, the latest Business Development event of the Country Range Group took place at the Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa in Cheshire. The event, which included a delightful 3-course meal and drinks reception, was attended by more than 150 guests, with over 30 exhibitors present, such as Tilda, Unilever, Nestle, Delifrance, and Cawston Press, among others.

These development days have become an essential part of CRG members’ schedules, providing suppliers with the chance to meet face-to-face with member delegates to discuss the newest product innovations, performance, and marketing support activities, while also providing samples and live demonstrations.

Introducing New Products to the Range

This years first business development event was also a great opportunity for the Country Range Brand to showcase the new portfolio of spring/summer desserts to those in attendance. The five new sweet treats introduced to the CRG members were a Hummingbird Cake, Neapolitan Layer Gateau, White Chocolate and Raspberry Tart, Lemon and Blueberry Brûlée Tart and an Affogato Dessert.

A Great Success for Members and Suppliers

The Country Range Group’s Head of Trading, Dean Pendlebury, commented:

“Our BDDs form a crucial part of our Group calendar and provide numerous benefits for both our member wholesalers and suppliers. Whether it’s the face-to-face meetings, the vibrant selection of NPD from new and existing suppliers being showcased or the great opportunity for our buying and trading teams to discuss and finalise trade agreements, the event has proved a huge success for all involved. The feedback from attendees has already been tremendous and with the number of orders generated over the two days and a variety of future sales leads, it’s clear it was financially beneficial too.”

Pete Evans of Lamb Weston Meijer said:

“It was fantastic to connect with Country Range Group members at the latest BBD, and the perfect opportunity to present our latest product innovation, REALLY Crunchy Fries. Nothing beats speaking with customers face-to-face so events like this are incredibly valuable to us as a supplier. We’re already looking forward to the next BBD in September!”
