In 2023, CRG proudly entered into a three-year partnership with The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation (NARF), the only UK charity dedicated to scientific and medical research into allergies.
At the Country Range Group (CRG), we understand the significant impact that food allergies have on individuals, families, and businesses across the UK. With millions of people affected and hospital admissions due to severe allergic reactions rising, we are committed to playing our part in ensuring a safer future. As a leading foodservice buying group, we recognize our responsibility in raising awareness, supporting research, and contributing to positive change in the industry.
Founded in memory of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who tragically lost her life to an allergic reaction, NARF has been instrumental in driving change through research, policy advocacy, and education. This partnership marks CRG as the first foodservice buying group to collaborate with the Foundation, reinforcing our commitment to making food allergy history.
CRG’s partnership with NARF extends beyond financial support. We are actively working to increase understanding and awareness of allergies within the foodservice industry and beyond. Our initiatives include:
Featuring NARF as an editorial partner in our industry-leading magazine, Stir It Up, to educate and inform foodservice professionals on crucial allergen-related issues.
Hosting and inviting NARF’s founders to speak at our flagship industry events, such as our Annual Conference and ‘An Evening With’ Awards, ensuring the conversation around food safety remains at the forefront of industry discussions.
Encouraging our members and wider network to support NARF’s mission through fundraising and awareness campaigns.
Our partnership with NARF is more than a collaboration—it is a movement toward tangible change. We are proud to support several of NARF’s key initiatives, including:
The Natasha Clinical Trial: A £2.5 million groundbreaking study focused on using everyday foods as an accessible and affordable treatment for food allergies. This research could pave the way for life-changing treatments for thousands of allergy sufferers.
The Allergy Tsar Open Letter (2024): CRG, alongside other leading food industry organizations, has signed an open letter urging the UK government to appoint an Allergy Tsar. This role would help coordinate national efforts to improve food safety policies, medical research, and public education.
The Allergy School Campaign (2025): We are backing efforts to ensure that schools nationwide implement better allergy management strategies, keeping children with food allergies safer in educational environments.
Fundraising Through Signature by Country Range Ice Cream Sales: For every tub of our premium Signature ice cream sold, 1p is donated to NARF, providing ongoing financial support for allergy research and education initiatives.
At CRG, we believe that collaboration, education, and innovation can help build a future where food allergies are better understood, managed, and ultimately prevented. Through our partnership with NARF, we are taking proactive steps to make the foodservice industry safer for everyone.
Together, we can make allergy history.
